A Public Adjuster is an insurance adjuster who represents an insured on a fee basis in claims settlement. Contrast this with an Independent Adjuster who works as an independent contractor, hiring himself out to insurance companies or other organizations for the investigation and settlement of claims. Independent adjusters represent the interests of insurance companies. A Public Adjuster represents you, the insured.

CRI Services is a nation wide Public Insurance Adjusting firm. We have been representing homeowners, businesses and homeowner associations for over 10 years. We work only for the insured, not the insurance company.

In most states we work on a contingency basis. We charge a percentage of the insurance proceeds that we recover for you – no recovery, no fee. Every claim we have taken has netted the insured a substantially higher settlement than what was originally offered by the insurance company, without exception.

Typically when an insured loss occurs, our staff can perform the following services for you:

  • Review your insurance policy to determine what coverage you have.

  • File your insurance claim with your insurance carrier.

  • Do an inventory of personal items lost, damaged or destroyed and determine their actual cash value (ACV) and replacement cost value (RCV) so that if your policy covers their replacement, the amount owed can be determined.

  • Our estimator(s) will come to your home or business and do an investigation of the damages to your real property. All our estimators have a contracting background. This is important to determine the complete scope of repairs that will be needed. This information is then entered into our estimating software with current local pricing. We are very detailed in our estimating making sure that all of the insured damages are included in the estimate.

  • In most cases, structural engineers are not need, however, if one is needed we can provide you experts in the field and limit their scope to those areas that are necessary to get your claim paid.

  • Determine additional living expenses and or loss of use.

  • Meet and correspond as necessary with the insurance company adjuster. This is an extremely important part of the claim process. In a catastrophe, insurance companies are often overwhelmed with claims. It takes a tremendous amount of persistence on our part to keep your claim moving along.
Catastrophic losses are never fun. It is an extremely stressful event and life changing for most.
